MarcoTarot
The MarcoTarot Story:
This technique began when I was doing readings for myself and wanted to share them with my
sister. I turned on Marco Polo and narrated what I saw through the cards. This worked so well
that I started exchanging readings with my childhood best friend who lives in another state.
Eventually, this evolved to doing readings for friends using the app. What I love about this
technique is that the recipient and I don’t have to find a mutually agreeable time. With friends in
different time zones and different stages of life, this was a key element. People loved that they
could watch the reading when they best receive the information. They could also watch it over
and over again as many times as they wanted. They would see and hear things they hadn’t
before.
I was already thinking that the Marco Polo readings would become an offering in my
Kaleidoscope Conscious Evolution coaching business, when it suddenly became fast tracked. I
gifted a fiery Aries friend a reading for her birthday and she proposed the name MarcoTarot—
and then it caught fire!
I’m excited to offer these MarcoMini and MarcoMaxi readings to all of you.
My Tarot Story
My military family was stationed in Japan when I was a toddler. I grew up with Japanese art and books about the Chinese Zodiac. As a tween we relocated to the Ozarks where my mom became friends with an extraordinary woman who read playing cards. I really wish I had asked her more questions or learned more about what she did and how she did it. Unfortunately, she passed away when I was a freshman.

That early exposure set in motion a lifelong fascination
with tarot and astrology that has become the backbone of my coaching business.
Fast forward to the early 90’s when I met one of my dearest friends who had many gifts, among them energy work and a highly developed intuition. I bought my first deck, The Motherpeace Tarot, at a feminist bookstore (that may be the most early 90’s sentence ever written) and I used it for many years.
Over time life drew me away from spiritual pursuits until a major life crisis forced me to level up like a rocket ship. A key part of this was stepping into my gifts and talents, further developing them with practice and research. The group time out we all experienced during the pandemic allowed me time to delve deep into astrology, crystals and tarot.
The family crisis is finally in the rear view mirror and it is time to spread the love. Now I have a library of tarot and oracle cards. They are all so gorgeous and unique! I can’t wait to share them
with you.
Tarot vs. Oracle
Each tarot deck follows roughly the same structure. There are 21 Major Arcana cards that start with zero as the Fool just starting out on life’s adventures and ends with the world. When these cards come up the energy is more definite, more clear.
The rest of the deck is comprised of the
suit cards, similar to a playing deck, with each suit representing a different kind of energy. Cups relate to emotional energy, wands indicate action, swords represent mental energy, and pentacles are usually about physical resources and money.
The traditional meanings of the
cards are based on the Ryder Wait deck. With that said, the artwork on each deck is unique
and offers different kinds of insight.
While the decks themselves follow a structure, there are many different layouts to use, called
spreads. A three card spread might be interpreted as past, present, future energies. But it could also be “me, them, outcome”, or “this plus that equals this other energy”. It is fun to play around with how they can work together. A ten card, Celtic cross spread is much more involved.
Oracle card decks are all different from each other. They offer unique artwork, numbers, and words. Sometimes I pull oracle cards when I’m looking for quick insight into a question. Other times I use them as “clarifiers” for a tarot spread. They can also be used as the “what else is going on” cards.
